Rugby's first Global Superstar. So young to die. didn't realise how serious his illness was.

Very sad news.

The Joker

I am not having a go, I just cannot get used to this term being used for almost every single dead famous person.

They are individuals, and for me using rhyming slang is bordering on silliness, as I said for someone who has lived a long life I can maybe accept it.
Joker I have no problem believing you are a respectful person and meant no disrespect, I am just a boring yet traditional guy when it comes to death and announcing someones passing with 'Brown bread' for me is a not right, me.

"I got all excited thinking it was Jonah Lomas that had kicked the bucket.... Imagine my disappointment!"

That's actually the second time today you've made me laugh out loud. And no, I do not want to shag you.

Jesus, what with all the other bollocks going on today have just found this out now.

Can't think of many sporting greats of this order, on the pitch and off, the reason why many people watch sport.

Makes us look like Gypos.... to who? Fuck me there are far more offensive posts than that all over this site on a daily basis.

If you read my actual posts on this thread I have offered nothing but respect towards someone who by all accounts was a genuinely nice man as well as a sporting legend.

The thread title was ever so slightly tongue in cheek mate. Chill out.

very sad news today. My son and I had the privilege of meeting him when the All blacks trained at Worcester. Great player and a true gent. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Re: Jonah Lomu - All Brown (Bread)
Wasn't there talk of Lomu playing in the NFL?

I wonder what position would have suited him, RB seems the obvious choice but he's a bit tall for that, WR I think would be a waste of his talents, TE maybe?

I would not say a lot . I just think the headline makes us look like gypo's.

Re: Jonah Lomu - All Brown (Bread)
The word "Legend" gets bandied around far too much these days, but big Jonah was just that. This video demonstrates everything that made him one on the pitch. My personal favourite is the try on 67 mins vs Ireland. I remember watching this try at home and it was the first time, watching as a neutral, that rugby had got me off my feet.

And then, of course, there are those tries against England.

A terrible shame. An extraordinary talent, by all accounts a very decent man, and absolutely no age at all.

Re: Jonah Lomu - All Brown (Bread)
Once again I have to say how I find the title of the thread very disrespectful I know its cockney rhyming slang but a very young man has just died and the title is "All Brown Bread" it comes off to me anyway as slightly jovial and he has left two young sons behind.

(Rugby Legend Jonah Lomu passes away )

surely that would be a more fitting title he was not 75 or 90 etc.
